Lab Services

Each of the 11 CAC-Florida Medical Centers has a complete lab drawing station for the patient's convenience. Whether the needs are large or small, routine or complex, our patients can depend on us for access to a full range of the highest quality diagnostic testing. Our physicians have access to test ordering and result delivery applications such as eLabCorp and e-Results. The online test ordering capability allows orders to be entered electronically in the doctor's office. Electronic result allows our physicians to view their preliminary patient result information as well as access final patient reports quickly, efficiently, and securely. The patient's test results are available to our physicians for diagnostic consultations regardless of time or day they need to review the results.

Physical Therapy

CAC-Florida Medical Centers provide services to our patients when medical problems or other health-related conditions limit their ability to move and function in their daily lives. Our Pain Modalities departments work in conjunction with our physicians and patients in order to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors. CAC-Florida Medical Centers' Pain Modalities departments provide hot pack, TENS, paraffin, ultrasound and whirlpool services as order by the patient's physician.

Massage Therapy

In order to maintain our patients as agile as possible as part of their healthy aging, CAC-Florida Medical Centers provide chair massages in the Wellness & Activities Centers. The massages are provided by certified massage professionals. The massages involve acting on and manipulating the body with pressure - structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving - tension, motion, or vibration, done manually in order to reduce "state anxiety" (a reaction to a particular situation), blood pressure, and heart rate.

Nutrional Counseling

For individual counseling the Registered Dietitians perform a complete nutrition assessment that includes the patient's metabolic, nutrition and lifestyle factors. Based on this assessment, they help each patient identify practical and achievable nutrition goals and develop an individualized nutrition treatment plan that matches the individual's lifestyle and preferences. Individual counseling services are provided at the Wellness and Activities Centers. Current referrals from physicians include, but are not limited to, the following indications for nutrition education:

  • Diabetes (Type 1 & Type 2)
  • Eating Disorders
  • High Cholesterol or Triglycerides
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Low Blood Sugar
  • Kidney Insufficiency
  • Seniors at Nutritional Risk
* Not all services are covered under all plans. Patients are responsible for checking their plan documents for coverage.
